Victorian English 18k Diamond Snake Ring

A striking diamond snake ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this ring depicts the twisting body of a serpent. The ring is comprised of three connected bands, which feature a smooth and simple surface. The head of the snake rests atop its curling body, and is decorated with 4 bead-set old mine cut diamonds. The diamonds are wonderfully faceted, and have an approximate total carat weight of .25ctw. The eyes of the snake are represented by 2 three-dimensional gold balls, and the serpent's tail is also juxtaposed atop of the creature's twisting body at the front of the piece. The inside of the shank is stamped with a maker's mark that reads: "A & W", a small crown, the number "18", a lion's head, and the letter "o". These hallmarks indicate that the piece was crafted in England. A phenomenal piece, this ring would make an exquisite addition to any collection!

Measurements: The ring is a size 9.5, and could be resized slightly. The back of the band has a width of 10.75mm.

Condition: The ring is in excellent condition. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and all of the diamonds are secure and intact.
