Victorian 9k Heart Locket/Pendant
A beautiful heart locket from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 9k yellow gold, the front of this heart-shaped locket pendant features dainty foliage and swirling-motif engravings. The locket also features a repoussé border, which incorporates additional swirling-motifs. The backside of the piece is smooth and simple, and features an original engraving which reads: "BK & FT" and a "9CT" purity mark. The top of the pendant features a complimentary bail, which would allow the locket to easily attach to a favorite gold chain. The inside of the piece features two small compartments, which would allow the wearer to insert sentimental photographs. A romantic piece, this locket would make a lovely gift for any individual!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 1 1/16" long (including the bail) and has a width of 3/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or repoussé-detailing. The locket opens and closes securely, and the bail is intact and in working order. The interior compartments are intact, and new cellulose frames could be added upon request.
