A spectacular and very rare locket ring from the Georgian (ca1750s) era! This unusual ring which is crafted in vibrant 18k yellow gold, and features an envelope-motif centerpiece. The envelope is decorated with beautiful black enameling, and opens to reveal a rectangular-shaped compartment. The backdrop of the compartment is adorned with a small, painted forget-me-not flower. However, a small photograph or sentimental memento could also be placed into the locket. The rectangular-shaped cover of the compartment features dainty floral-motif engravings. The shoulders of the ring feature a highly-intricate scrolling and blooming floral-motif design. The remainder of the band is smooth and simple.
