A lovely sapphire ring by New York-based jeweler, Baum & Oppenheim from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, this ring features a solitaire cushion cut sapphire, which is held within a ten-prong setting. The sapphire, which has an approximate carat weight of 3.01ct, displays a deep greenish-blue hue. The shoulders of the ring feature black tracery enameling, and dainty engravings. The engravings, which include scrolling and foliage-motifs, are wonderfully highlighted by the dark enameling. The remainder of the band is smooth and simple, and the inside of the shank is stamped with the Baum & Oppenheim maker's mark and a "14K" purity mark. A gorgeous, historically-rich piece, this ring would be lovely for an upcoming engagement!
Measurements: The ring is a size 5.25, and could easily be resized. The band has a width of 4mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting or enamel detailing, and the sapphire is secure and intact.
