A wonderful and unusual garnet charm pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This equestrian inspired piece is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and depicts a miniature jockey cap that hangs from a simple gold bail. The jockey cap is represented by two hand carved garnet stones which are set in a closed back setting. Where the hats' button would rest is a single lustrous pearl bezel set within a starburst which is carved into the surface of the garnet, creating a rich, realistic design. Attached at the top side is a simple gold bail, allowing the wearer to easily attach the charm to a favorite bracelet or wear as a pendant on a chain.
