An elaborate pair of cannetille earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) period! These beautiful 18kt gold earrings are crafted with very fine cannetille wirework that surrounds polished chalcedony stones at the center. Each earring has an elongated teardrop shape that is intricately layered and hangs from a decorative surmount. The framework is remarkably detailed, including fine spirals, flowing curvilinear shapes, delicate beadwork, and leaf-like accents. The chalcedony stones have a wonderful translucence and pale shade of blue, which looks wonderful paired with the gold setting.
